Job Description

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an all-age special school that empowers and inspires its students every day. The school provides a high standard of education, focusing on PMLD, Complex Needs students of all ages, and offers a daily structure and routine to ensure the best learning environment for individual needs.

The successful Teaching Assistant will be confident and adaptable in working with all Key Stages, helping students meet their milestones and providing 1:1 support. They will also need to be well-equipped to deal with challenging behaviors and work closely with Teachers to support the classroom.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with PMLD, Complex Needs, and Physical Difficulties
  • A calm, patient, and caring personality
  • A good understanding of child and adult protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Excellent classroom management
