Intensive Care Nurse

The Intensive Care and High Dependency Units at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust are recruiting Junior Sisters/Charge Nurses with Intensive Care experience to join their team.
Main DutiesYou will be responsible for providing high-quality evidence-based care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This will involve working as part of a team to deliver patient-centered care, using your clinical skills and knowledge to make decisions and take action.
You will also be expected to develop and consolidate your clinical, leadership, and managerial knowledge and skills, working closely with the Senior Nursing team and ICU Matron to achieve this.
Requirements- NMC registered RGN/RN (Adult)
- Accredited Intensive Care Course
- ILS
- Epidural study day
- IV drugs
- Degree
- ALS
- Mentor qualification
- Recent proven experience at a similar level within ICU or relevant experience
- Relevant management skills
- Evidence of insight/understanding of current issues in nursing in the NHS
- Computer/IT skills
- CVVH & Cardiac output monitoring skills
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate team leadership skills
- Demonstrate effective time management
- Ability to think logically, problem solve and use initiative, to achieve goals whilst acting within agreed policies, procedures and code of conduct
- Ability to support colleagues in stressful situations
- Ability to concentrate on the changing needs of the unit for frequent periods, despite interruptions demands from others
- Ability to deal with distressed relatives, care for the terminally ill and deal with the emotional consequences of critical/terminal illness for patients/relatives
- Ability to reflect, accept constructive criticism and act accordingly
