About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Colocation Regional Engineer. This role will be responsible for driving Mechanical/Electrical Engineering services, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centers that meet quality and performance levels across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Evaluate different mechanical/electrical systems and make data-driven decisions about suitable solutions based on AWS guidelines.
  • Act as a resident engineer during new data center construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
  • Provide technical support to the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions that add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.
  • Support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support.
  • Interface with operating partners, data center design engineering team, server hardware team, and environmental health and safety team to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered by operating partners.
  • Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
  • Initiate and lead engineering site audits within leased or colo data centers, producing reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with 6+ cumulative years of experience in industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities. You should have good communication skills and experience with web-based software tools for calculation and data processing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities, especially data centers.
  • Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant or Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers.
  • EPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware).
