Job Summary

Civil/Structural Inspection Engineer and Team Leader sought for a challenging role at TÜV Rheinland. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil or Structural Engineering and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Civil/Structural Inspection opportunities for new and existing clients
  • Prepare proposals for inspections, including scope and estimated costs
  • Draft and review Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
  • Examine Civil and Structural assets in accordance with WSE and TÜV procedures
  • Prepare clear written reports, supported by photographs, in compliance with TÜV procedures
  • Assess deterioration and identify mandatory actions or recommendations
  • Endorse reports, indicating recommended next inspection date(s) and mandatory actions or recommendations
  • Issue reports in electronic and/or hard copy formats, to suit client requirements

Requirements

  • HNC/Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Incorporated Engineer status (desirable but not essential)
  • Civil and Structural Engineering background
  • Understanding of Civil and Structural Engineering principles
  • Ability to identify defects and remedial work solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Use of IT and software, including Microsoft Word and inspection reporting platforms
  • Eye for detail
  • Ability to accurately follow procedures
  • Courage to make (and defend) difficult decisions
  • Good interpersonal skills and capability to work independently
  • Ambition to learn and progress
