Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Overton School, part of Options Autism.


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to work with our students aged 11-19 who have complex needs, including ASC, SLD, MLD, and impaired social or cognitive functioning due to early life trauma and attachment difficulties.


Responsibilities

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:



  • Providing educational and emotional support to students in the classroom and beyond.
  • Assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons, and supporting students with their learning.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to meet the individual needs of students, including those with autism and other special educational needs.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • GCSE C or above (or equivalent) in English and Math.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Contract Details

This is a permanent, term-time only contract with a competitive salary and generous benefits package.


Location

The role is based at Overton School, part of Options Autism, in the beautiful Shropshire countryside.


Hours

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.


Salary

The salary is £22,300.00 per annum, with a Welcome Bonus of £2,000 payable upon completion of probation and a further £1,000 upon completing 12 months continuous employment.


We are an independent school, and our school terms will differ from others in the local area.
