SEN Teaching Assistant Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our mainstream primary school in Birmingham, providing essential support to students with special educational needs.

About the Job:

  • The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching team to deliver tailored support to students across resource bases.
  • They will adapt learning activities to meet individual needs, ensuring effective access to the curriculum.
  • The role will involve delivering focused interventions in phonics and reading to enhance student progress.
  • Building strong relationships with students, staff, and families will be essential in fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) and ADHD through individual and small group sessions will be a key aspect of the role.

Requirements and Benefits:

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or degree is required.
  • Experience working in a school environment, particularly with children who have SEND, is necessary.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for engaging effectively with students and staff.

Estimated Salary: £39,500 - £44,500 per annum (based on 5 days/week)
