About the Role

As a Learning Support Administrator at North Hertfordshire College, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality support to enable students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To develop and implement effective strategies to support students' diverse additional learning needs, promoting independence and inclusivity.
  2. To assist students with communication challenges, ensuring equal access to education.
  3. To maintain accurate records and contribute to the setting of individual targets, including EHCP reviews.
  4. To offer support with study skills, pastoral needs, and community access to help students overcome challenges.
  5. To provide assistance with personal care, mobility, medication administration, and individual arrangements for students with complex needs.
  6. To facilitate student engagement in work experience opportunities, including liaison with employers and departmental record-keeping.
  7. To uphold confidentiality guidelines and college policies on SEND, health and safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  8. To participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in SEND-specific areas.
Requirements:
  1. A seasoned professional with expertise in working with vulnerable young people who have SEND, including Neurodiversity and SEMH challenges.
  2. A passion for enhancing opportunities for young people with SEND, focusing on independence, health and well-being, social inclusion, and work opportunities.
  3. A proven track record of adapting and developing innovative approaches to engage young people with a calm and positive demeanor.
  4. An understanding of health and safety, equality, diversity, safeguarding, and SEND legislation, such as EHCPs.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to adopt and use IT systems effectively, promoting Assistive Technology.
  6. Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English and maths.
  7. Level 2 qualification in learning support or related discipline.
  8. Possession of a car is desirable due to some travel across college sites.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role ranges from £22,000 to £25,000, based on experience and qualifications.
