Residential Support Worker Opportunity

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Residential Support Worker in Washington, Tyne and Wear.

This position offers a unique chance to make a positive impact on the lives of young people by creating a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a supportive team to foster a safe and caring living environment.
  • Build trusting relationships with children and young people, responding to their individual needs.
  • Nurture personal development, education, and wider learning through various activities and engagements.
  • Utilize flexibility, reliability, and adaptability to support young people in making positive choices.
Requirements:
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy, with basic computer literacy.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care preferred but not essential.
  • Recent experience supporting children or young people with additional emotional/behavioural issues or other SEN barriers.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Strong teamwork and emotional intelligence.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, bank holidays, and nights.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to complete an immediate application).
