Job Title: Head of Sustainability

Description:

The Head of Sustainability will be responsible for developing and implementing a sustainability strategy for Career Trails, in line with industry best practices and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a sustainability strategy for the company, ensuring alignment with industry standards and government regulations.
  2. Lead and manage a team of sustainability professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and achievement of targets.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with clients, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the sustainability sector.
  4. Conduct research and analysis on sustainability trends and developments, and make recommendations for the company's approach.
  5. Oversee the delivery of sustainability projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  6. Collaborate with other departments within the company to integrate sustainability practices into all areas of the business.
  7. Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry standards related to sustainability, and ensure compliance across the company.
  8. Represent the company at industry events and conferences, promoting our sustainability initiatives and building our reputation in the market.
  9. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on the progress and success of sustainability initiatives and projects.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a sustainability role, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing sustainability strategies.
  3. Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks and standards, such as BREEAM and EPC.
  4. Experience in managing and leading a team, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  5. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  6. Passion for sustainability and a strong understanding of the importance of Net Zero in the built environment.
  7. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  8. Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to sustainability in the UK.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions.
  10. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
  11. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
  12. Willingness to travel for business purposes, as needed.
