Job Summary:

As an Electrical Support Engineer - Manufacturing Specialist at Acorn by Synergie, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant. Your primary responsibility will be to provide technical support and guidance to the electrical engineering team, ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment are functioning optimally.

Key Responsibilities:

Determine and set engineering priorities in collaboration with line managers to optimize plant performance.
Devise and implement planned maintenance and inspection schedules in line with statutory requirements.
Ensure all engineering activities meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
Allocate resources and materials effectively to ensure maintenance schedules are met on each shift.
Monitor engineering teams and contractors to ensure work is carried out to plan.
Manage staff training and development to create a safety-conscious and technically competent workforce.
Control expenditure on spares, materials, and labour, ensuring that budgets are adhered to.
Lead initiatives to improve engineering practices and plant performance, serving as the key electrical expert for the team.
Prepare and submit minor capital and major maintenance proposals to ensure plant availability and performance improvements.
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out system to support fault resolution and breakdowns.

Requirements:

A solid practical background in electrical engineering, with relevant experience in a supervisory role.
A minimum of an HNC qualification or equivalent is required.
Experience in the following areas would be beneficial: electrical safety and safe systems of work, design of electrical systems, PLCs and SCADA systems, digital drives and motor control, distribution systems and switching, electronic systems such as load cells and tensiometers.
