About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Specialist for Child and Adolescent Mental Health to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a qualified specialist service to children and young people with mental health problems across all sectors of care as part of a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.

  1. Provide initial CAMHS assessments drawing on professional training and experience, clinical skills, and the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from various evidence-based sources.
  2. Formulate and implement plans for the formal clinical treatment and/or management of emotional and behavioral difficulties of clients, based on an appropriate conceptual framework of these problems.
  3. Regularly monitor and evaluate therapy programs and progress using CYP-IAPT routine outcome measures, including family members where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have a professional qualification in Clinical/Counselling Psychology, Mental Health Nursing (RMN), Social Work, or Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, with experience of working within multidisciplinary CAMHS teams and providing specialist CAMHS assessment and treatment.

The successful applicant will be joining a comprehensive and dynamic Brent CAMHS generic Assessment Team.
