Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex tickets across all hardware and software platforms, demonstrating expertise at a 3rd line level.
  • Manage 3rd party vendors to drive fault resolution and change on software/hardware issues, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Document fixes and build a comprehensive Knowledge Base to share with colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain our infrastructure estate, utilizing RMM platforms to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure build baselines are thoroughly tested for reliability, functionality, and security, guaranteeing a high level of quality.
  • Consult on hardware solutions and provide guidance on hardware standards, ensuring alignment with company policies.
  • Maintain ITSM tooling platforms, ensuring timely updates, problem records, change notifications, and asset management.
  • Provide support and mentoring to colleagues across the IT Service, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.

Requirements:

  • From a highly technical background, with experience ensuring 24x7 uptime with minimal and controlled downtime.
  • 2+ years of Technical Support experience, preferably in an MSP environment.
  • O365, Teams, Exchange online, PowerShell experience.
  • Strong VMware and Hyper-V knowledge.
  • Detailed and proven understanding of physical server hardware components and configuration, with strong fault diagnostic capabilities, including RAID config and workload placement on storage arrays.
  • Understanding of WAN, SDWAN, MPLS, FTTp/c, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
  • Detailed understanding of TCP-IP, IP routing protocols (BGP and OSPF).
  • Detailed and working knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems, Active Directory, and components, including INTUNE, group policy, and WSUS.
  • Understanding of ITSM toolsets, with Freshservice being desirable.
