About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Plant and Fleet Department as a key member of our team. As a Fleet Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations within your specific region, ensuring efficient and effective use of time available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report on compliance within the region, actively engaging with underperforming drivers to raise safety standards and improve driving behaviors.
  • Control new driver inductions, equipment, and vehicle issues, recording all data within our fleet management system.
  • Manage all vehicle defects, minimize VOR downtime, and ensure reporting systems are updated.
  • Ensure all assets and vehicles are kept in a safe and legal condition to maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Monitor performance in line with company procedures, policies, and rules, challenging any non-conformity where necessary.
  • Monitor the real-time movements of the fleet using the latest telematics software.
  • Liaise with other regions, departments, and MGroup functions, encouraging a one-team approach.
  • Take on new assignments when required and provide assistance to other regions as business needs dictate.
Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of flexibility and ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to confidently converse at all levels.
  • Good technology skills, including proficiency in fleet management software.
  • Ability to interpret and understand legislation related to transportation and logistics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
