Nursery Assistant Position

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Nursery Assistant at a local nursery in Southampton.

Main Tasks
  1. Develop a warm and engaging atmosphere for children's growth and development.
  2. Assist with childcare duties, such as feeding, changing, and providing emotional support.
  3. Work closely with a small group of children, observing and planning activities tailored to their needs.
  4. Participate in training sessions set by the Showcase Training Assessor.
  5. Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, adhering to established policies and procedures.
Education and Salary

As part of this role, you will have access to comprehensive training provided by Showcase Training, including:

  • NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (15 months) or NCFE/CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator (18 months).
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (unless exempt).
Working Hours and Pay

This position involves working 40 hours a week, from Monday to Friday. You can expect an estimated hourly rate of £4.25, rising to the National Minimum/Living Wage after one year.
