Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Energy Development Manager to join our team at Lightsource bp. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for managing a pipeline of solar and co-located solar plus projects from early stages to bankable and investment-ready projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive new business opportunities by working closely with the development team and strategic stakeholders to identify opportunities, present for investment, and bring through the permitting process.
  • Oversee projects effectively, leading meetings and communications, and directing stakeholders to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Run financial models and use price indicators to negotiate commercial terms that meet Lightsource bp's margin requirements.
  • Regularly update and provide clear forecasting of project cashflows in line with budget forecasts.
  • Understand and negotiate solutions to property reports involving the legal team where necessary.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Option to Lease/land rights agreements is essential.
  • Understanding of grid and knowledge/relationships with UK DNOs and National Grid is essential.
  • Understanding of project finance and financial modelling terms is required.
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills are necessary.
  • Understanding of renewables industry, energy, and environmental issues in the UK and EU is required.
  • Reasonable understanding of Private Wire and Corporate PPAs is beneficial.
  • Solar experience is preferred, but a minimum of 3 years' experience in wider renewables or infrastructure development is required.
  • Developing and managing work-related projects, deadlines, and resources across cross-functional teams is a must.
