As a Principal Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer in our Smart Infrastructure Division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the world of tomorrow. About the Role

This exciting opportunity is part of our National Grid 5 Year Light Current Framework, where we're providing robust systems with the latest Siemens technology on new National Grid substations and extending existing infrastructure. Our goal is to deliver a safer and lower carbon project delivery footprint.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Transmission & Distribution protection and control systems with our end-customers from various domains & disciplines.
  • Provide pre-sales support to our sales and proposal teams and support the project manager and commercial team to deliver projects on target and within scope.
  • As technical lead for protection and control on UK Transmission and Distribution network, provide innovative solutions and ensure Siemens solutions are compliant with the latest policies and standards.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients and maintain the highest standards of quality.
  • Sound problem-solving skills, fault-finding skills, and analytical thinking are essential for this role.
  • Provide technical input for Sales and Proposals departments.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience of National Grid delivery and specifications/standards are essential.
  • A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering plus extensive experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
