About the Company: Handpicked Recruitment Limited is a leading recruitment agency specializing in finance and accounting placements. Our client is a multinational commodities trading group headquartered in London, seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant and Payroll Specialist to join their finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and control intercompany, related party, and third-party reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Manage bank reconciliations and payment instructions to maintain financial stability.
- Oversee the maintenance of up-to-date ledgers, including daily bank reconciliations, and be responsible for several accounting areas, such as prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, inter-company positions, payroll journals, AR/AP ledgers, and clearing suspense and contra accounts.
- Prepare and input journal entries for approval by Group Accountants.
- Assist Group Accountants with quarter-end procedures and provide support as needed.
- Ensure adherence to accounting controls and maintain accurate financial records.
- Research and resolve technical accounting issues, preparing file notes and accounting memos as required.
Requirements:
- Apart from the base job title, the ideal candidate will be a part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with at least 5 years of experience in an accounting function.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and analytical abilities are essential for this role.
