Clinical Psychologist for Community Learning Disability Team

Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Clinical Psychologist to join their Community Learning Disability Team. This is a fixed-term 12-month position, and the successful candidate will work in a well-respected team providing psychological assessment and intervention to adults with learning disabilities.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide consultation, training, and supervision to the wider multi-disciplinary team on the psychological care of adults with learning disabilities. Regular clinical and professional supervision will be provided by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and the candidate will also benefit from being a member of the Learning Disability Psychology Specialty and the wider Psychological Professions Community within the Trust.
The Trust offers excellent links with North West clinical psychology training courses in Lancaster, Manchester, and Liverpool. The successful candidate will be expected to work in a variety of settings and provide psychological assessment and intervention to adults with learning disabilities.

The Trust also provides physical health and well-being services in the community, working with partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria, and Sefton area.

Person Specification- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications in relation to the client group and mental health.
- Evidence of continuing professional development, with a minimum of 40 hours per year.
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and their families, in a clinically relevant setting.
