Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Prevention and Engagement Worker to join our team at We Are With You. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals affected by substance misuse and promoting healthy lifestyles in our local communities.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about making a positive impact on people's lives. As a Prevention and Engagement Worker, you will be responsible for delivering training and brief interventions to individuals, groups, and communities, as well as working closely with healthcare professionals and partner agencies to ensure our clients receive comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver training and brief interventions to individuals, groups, and communities
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals and partner agencies to ensure comprehensive support for clients
  • Assess and manage risk, using your knowledge and skills to identify and address potential issues
  • Develop and implement recovery plans, referrals, and support strategies to promote healthy lifestyles
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, colleagues, and partner agencies
Requirements
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this within 12 months
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care, or criminal justice sector
  • Successful track record of working with substance misuse service users
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for service users
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and build effective relationships with stakeholders
