About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Prevention and Engagement Specialist to join our team at With You. As a key member of our substance misuse prevention team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals, groups, and communities affected by substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop personalized recovery plans for clients
  • Deliver training and brief interventions to individuals, groups, and organizations
  • Work in close partnership with healthcare professionals, partner agencies, and internal clinical/mental health teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Assist in the delivery of an integrated service by completing assessments, referrals, support, care coordination, and interventions
  • Confidently assess clients, carrying out triage and comprehensive assessments, and making appropriate onward referrals to specialist agencies
Requirements
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or willingness to achieve within 12 months
  • Demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care, criminal justice, or other specialist settings
  • Successful track record of working with substance misuse service users
  • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for service users
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of group work, harm reduction, issues affecting substance misusers, rehabilitation, and solution-focused brief therapy
