About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Transition Specialist to join our team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This is an exciting opportunity to work on the implementation of our strategy towards green and climate finance.

Job Description

The Associate will support the origination and development of corporate-sector investment projects, particularly in integrated energy systems. This includes completing analytical research and technical assignments, working in coordination with project teams and other departments.

The role requires contributing to new/ongoing team activities on country/regional programmatic policy dialogue and technical assistance assignments with policymakers aimed at fostering investment towards a systematic acceleration of climate ambition and delivery.

You will also be responsible for identifying and reviewing relevant data/statistical databases and indicators, market and technology reports, etc. to help assess costs/benefits and plausibility of investment opportunities under consideration.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of the EBRD's strategy towards green and climate finance
  • Contribute to the origination and development of corporate-sector investment projects
  • Complete analytical research and technical assignments
  • Work on country/regional programmatic policy dialogue and technical assistance assignments
  • Review relevant data/statistical databases and indicators
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant degree (Master and/or PhD) in engineering, environmental/climate sciences, energy economics or related fields
  • Prior experience in business development, project planning of innovative investments is advantageous
  • Good understanding of climate change science and methodologies
  • Excellent computer literacy and understanding of modelling, data management and processing
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills in English and preferably in another language
