Financial Sustainability Project Manager

The Church of England Birmingham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Sustainability Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing a financial sustainability strategy that aligns with our diocese's vision and mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop a comprehensive financial sustainability strategy that includes giving and fundraising initiatives.
  2. Create a project plan and resource requirements for delivery, including people resources.
  3. Work with the Project Management Office (PMO) to integrate financial sustainability plans into our overall strategic plan.
Delivery Stage:
  1. Deliver the project in line with the project plan and budget.
  2. Recruit a team to deliver the project and provide line management as appropriate.
  3. Track progress and key indicators.
  4. Create a stakeholder management plan and ensure good relationships and engagement with all stakeholders.
Requirements:

We are looking for a highly numerate and logical individual with a strong understanding of financial principles and project management experience. You should have a good knowledge of project tools and an understanding of generosity and giving as a key part of Christian discipleship. Experience of working with volunteers or those outside of a line management hierarchy is also desirable.

The role holder will need to travel to parishes across the diocese, so the ability to drive and access to a car would be beneficial. As the post holder will be required to develop discipleship-based generosity activities and training for ordained and lay leaders, there is a genuine occupational requirement that they must be a practising Christian.

Terms and Conditions:

The post-holder will be initially employed by the Diocesan Board of Finance for a fixed term of three years. Salary and pension details are available upon request.
