Key Responsibilities- Conduct Flood Risk Assessments: Assist in conducting flood risk assessments for development projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Develop Drainage Strategies: Support the preparation of drainage strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) design and implementation.
- Utilize GIS Technology: Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyse and present spatial data related to flood risk and water management.
- Apply NPPF Principles: Understand and apply the principles of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in flood risk and water management projects.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather data and insights necessary for project completion.
- Conduct Fieldwork: Conduct fieldwork and site visits to gather data and assess conditions related to flood risk and drainage.
- Monitor Project Progress: Monitor and report on the progress of projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Provide Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the team, including maintaining project documentation and records.
- Education: A degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of flood risk assessment, water management, or a related sector. Basic understanding of flood risk assessment methodologies and drainage strategies. Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for data analysis and presentation.
