Daventry, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom Amazon UK Services Ltd. Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Amazon UK Services Ltd. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, using your technical expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Utilize the latest tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of onsite apprentices, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and implement best practices across multiple EU sites.
A Day in the Life

As a Reliability Maintenance Engineer, you will work on-site, responding quickly to any machinery issues that arise. Your day will be filled with a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring our equipment is working safely and efficiently. You will also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible.

Working closely with senior colleagues, you will undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks, such as painting and plumbing, and will liaise with contractors when necessary. You will work on a range of shifts to ensure our sites are supported around the clock, allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is a technically-minded group of excellent team players, guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers.

From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. We keep buildings legally compliant, ensuring everyone's safety, and our sites operate at maximum efficiency. There are plenty of opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon.

We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
