Cornwall, United Kingdom Devon County Council Full time
Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our team at Bude Primary Academy Juniors. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring that children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support and interventions they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the provision for children with SEND within the main school at Bude, ensuring they receive the appropriate support and interventions.
  • Work closely with our ARB SENDCo to ensure a coordinated approach is compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and all related policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support children with SEND, including identifying and addressing barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure that children with SEND receive a comprehensive and coordinated support package.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified and experienced SENCo who is passionate about supporting children with SEND. While a National Award for SEN Coordination is desirable, we warmly encourage applicants who are willing to train towards this qualification.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff. You will also have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and related policies, as well as experience of developing and implementing strategies to support children with SEND.

If you are a motivated and dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting children with SEND, we would love to hear from you.
