Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Expert to join our team at Margetts Fund Management Ltd. As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our financial reports and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and publish Scheme Reports and Accounts in line with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Calculate Distribution rates for the Schemes.
  • Complete and validate CT600 / CT61 tax returns for Schemes.
  • Liaise with auditors for annual Scheme audits on a regular basis.
  • Complete Tax Market Documentation.
  • Set up new funds with the Custodian and market opening.
  • Understand regulatory requirements affecting the role specifically and financial services in general.
  • Take ownership for all issues; ensuring they are resolved or escalated through relevant channels in a timely manner.
  • Assist in instilling a continuous process improvement approach in the team.
  • Assist other teams within the company with accounting-related queries.
  • Coach/mentor junior colleagues.
  • Participate in report writing for quarterly governance cycle and production and monitoring of team KPIs.
  • Participate in working groups and/or committees.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the reporting environment to shorten reporting periods.
  • Support and build strong relationships with all key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate: ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent with minimum of 18 months fund accountant or financial services auditing experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • High-level analytical skills.
  • High-level attention to detail.
  • Proactive.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong inter-personal, team-working and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Working knowledge of accounting for financial instruments.

An ACD is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to establish and manage Collective Investment Schemes (Funds). The responsibilities of an ACD include maintaining a register of investors, including the settlement of client money, arranging safe custody, and valuing the assets held by funds in order to create buying and selling prices of the funds.
