Job Details:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our Special School Primary School in Clacton-on-Sea. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will deliver engaging English lessons designed to support students' academic and emotional development. We are looking for someone who can work closely with a supportive team of staff to ensure each child receives personalised learning and care in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Plan and deliver tailored English lessons to meet the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Support: Collaborate with support staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assessment: Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary.
  • One-to-One Support: Provide one-to-one and group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Relationship Building: Build positive relationships with students, parents, and external professionals.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience: Experience working with students with SEMH or behavioural difficulties.
  • Classroom Management: Strong classroom management skills and a passion for helping students thrive.
  • Communication and Organisation: Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
