About the Role

We are in search of a highly qualified and enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects. The ideal candidate will be tasked with the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and systems across various applications. A comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development:

  • Generate creative mechanical designs utilizing CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
  • Produce detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure designs align with project specifications and constraints.
  • Support the DFMEA process and documentation planning.

Prototyping and Testing:

  • Construct and evaluate prototypes to confirm design concepts.
  • Prepare test plans and documentation for DVP activities.
  • Analyze test results and adjust designs to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement necessary corrective measures.

Project Management:

  • Oversee design projects from initial concept through to production.
  • Establish project timelines, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
  • Communicate project status and any challenges to relevant stakeholders.

Manufacturing Support:

  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams and external suppliers to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Assist in the development of manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Provide technical assistance during the production phase.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and implement design enhancements to improve product performance, reduce costs, and increase reliability.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure designs adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation for compliance and quality assurance.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred) or;
  • An equivalent qualification with substantial relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Experience in product development and lifecycle management.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
