Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Research & Development

Our client, a well-established leader in the field of customized innovative materials handling and automation solutions, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their vibrant R&D team.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be based in a prestigious office environment and will play a crucial role in a technology-driven solutions landscape. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Creating detailed designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, along with generating associated Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Conducting precise engineering calculations while ensuring compliance with Machinery Directives and engineering standards.

You will also be expected to:

  • Analyze customer and supplier technical documentation and specifications to develop appropriate design concepts.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments to ensure cohesive project execution.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this diverse and engaging Senior Mechanical Engineer role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience with the Master Model Design Approach, Parametric design, Design Tables, and CAD Macros/Automation.
  • Computer programming skills would be beneficial, along with prior experience in Rapid Prototyping (such as 3D Printing).
  • A solid understanding of structural mechanics and the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in design.
  • Knowledge of kinematics and dynamics, either theoretically or through software applications, to analyze new designs.
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems and CAD library generation/automation software.

It is anticipated that the ideal candidate will hold a degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline (preferably Mechanical) and have a minimum of three years of experience in a specialized machinery design or manufacturing setting, ideally within the industrial automation or engineering sectors. Experience in designing electro-mechanical systems, particularly those related to conveyors, automation, or materials handling equipment, is highly desirable.
