Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Administrator to join our team in Chobham, Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in accounting and bookkeeping to take on a more senior role.

Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum.

Job Description:

As a Senior Financial Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the financial processes of our busy group of businesses. This includes processing invoices, creating and sending customer invoices, reconciling bank accounts, and preparing VAT returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Payable: Process invoices, code and project allocate.
  2. Accounts Receivable: Create invoices, pass for soft approval and send to customers.
  3. Credit Control: Send statements and chase overdue accounts.
  4. VAT: File VAT returns and check contents.
  5. Bank Accounts: Reconcile numerous bank accounts, including foreign currency and complex transactions.
  6. PAYE: Process payroll, send payslips and reconcile payments internally.
  7. Expenses: Manage employee expense claims.
  8. Reporting: Produce reports for regular company meetings.
  9. Tidy Books: Regularly check ledgers and nominal accounts for errors or mispostings and ensure the picture being presented to management of the financial position is as accurate as possible.
  10. End of Year: Assist the accountant with preparatory works for end of year filings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • AAT Bookkeeping Level 2
  • AAT Level 2 or above (desirable)
  • Xero software experience (minimum 1 year) ideal
  • If not Xero, a modern, recent Accounting software package essential
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • 1 year operating PAYE for 15+ staff
  • Good understanding of foreign currency accounts, payments and invoice processing
  • Experience with an accountancy practice (desirable)
