Key Responsibilities:

  • People Management: Lead and manage a team of site staff, ensuring they have the necessary training and support to perform their duties effectively.
  • Stock Management: Oversee the management of stock levels, ensuring adequate supplies are available for resale at all times.
  • Maintenance: Plan and implement a preventative maintenance scheme to minimize plant downtime and ensure the site's processing operations run smoothly.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Quarries Regulations 1999, and maintain accurate records of site activities.
  • Health and Safety: Promote a positive health and safety culture, conducting regular risk assessments and implementing safe systems of work to minimize the risk of accidents.
  • Operational Procedures: Develop and implement operational procedures for the site's processing plant, ensuring safe and efficient utilization of resources.
  • Reporting: Compile and submit regular reports on site activities, including KPIs and spend records.

Requirements:

  • SHE NVQ Level 2+/QCF Level 6 – Required.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH - Advantageous.
  • MPQC Level 3 – Geotechnical Competence – Strongly desirable.
  • WAMITAB – Level 4 - Desirable.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to think strategically and problem-solve.
  • Capacity to make quick decisions.
  • Good business and management skills.
  • Leadership qualities and team-building skills.

Experience:

  • Understand different methods of winning and extracting raw materials.
  • Experienced in Quarry Operations.
  • Experienced in large earthworks projects.
  • Knowledge of Landfill Operations advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of Risk Assessments & Safe Systems of Work.
  • Good working knowledge of production processes, H&S and Environmental policies.
  • Understanding of P&L accounts & Budgets.
  • Ability to multitask and manage change.
