About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PR Manager to join our team at uSwitch, a leading consumer brand in the insurance sector. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a consumer PR strategy that drives awareness, education, and trust for our brand.

As a PR Manager, you will work closely with our product and commercial teams to ensure that our PR activity aligns with business objectives. You will be responsible for managing a consumer PR programme with ambitious goals, including raising awareness of a relatively new category and cementing our category leadership in temporary insurance.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced PR professional with a strong understanding of the national consumer media landscape. You will be responsible for managing a team of PR professionals and working closely with our digital earned media and organic social media teams to ensure that all activity is integrated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a consumer PR strategy that drives awareness, education, and trust for our brand
  • Manage a consumer PR programme with ambitious goals, including raising awareness of a relatively new category and cementing our category leadership in temporary insurance
  • Work closely with our product and commercial teams to ensure that our PR activity aligns with business objectives
  • Manage a team of PR professionals and work closely with our digital earned media and organic social media teams to ensure that all activity is integrated
  • Provide an industry-leading press office, answering media queries and managing our media centre
  • Monitor industry agenda and daily news to identify opportunities to write and deliver expert commentary that cuts through in a crowded media space
  • Build, maintain, and maximise strong relationships with consumer affairs, motoring, lifestyle, trade, and broadcast media and other key industry influencers
What You'll Bring
  • Demonstrable experience in consumer PR with experience in a relevant sector (insurance, automotive, personal finance) with excellent communication skills
  • A creative thinker, willing to test new ideas and think outside the box
  • An ability to grasp complex topics and communicate them in consumer-friendly language
  • Able to manage priorities and make strategic decisions
  • Ability to capitalise on reactive media opportunities and turn around an accurate, newsworthy comment at pace, as well as creative thinking for proactive campaigns
