Network Rail is a leading organization in the railway industry, committed to enhancing safety, reliability, and efficiency. We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our Eastern Routes Capital Programmes (ERCP) Safety and Sustainability Assurance Team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned assurance professional to lead all aspects of safety and sustainability assurance activities for ERCP. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out assurance activities on suppliers and internal delivery teams, liaising with other Network Rail assurance bodies and external regulatory bodies, and working on improvements in the way we conduct assurance activities within ERCP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the safety and sustainability Level 2 assurance programme for the year, including CDM assurance, the safety and sustainability Functional Audit plan, and deep dive assurance activities.
  • Provide lead auditor role on audits and technical quality reviews of documentation.
  • Liaise with other functions within ERCP to coordinate Level 2 assurance activities and feed into the Business Assurance Community.
  • Develop and provide functional support, guidance, and professional expertise on CDM through the production of governance documents and monitoring facilities.
  • Provide the single point of contact for safety and sustainability assurance with the regional team, programme controls team, Principal Contractors Licensing team, and the ORR.
  • Support the S&SD Assurance Team in the management of the assurance governance document for ERCP.
  • Analyse Level 2 assurance data/activities and work with the team to identify potential improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Nebosh Construction/General Certificate
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of project and contract management
  • Nebosh Diploma
