Assistant Financial Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Financial Accountant to join our team at AD Finance. As a key member of our finance department, you will provide critical support to our Lead Accountant and contribute to the success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain accurate cash-flow forecasts to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure the balance sheet is reconciled and up-to-date, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to ensure a smooth process.
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of assets and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Process accruals, prepayments, and payroll journals accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and VAT returns to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Post incoming cash to the accounts receivable ledger and facilitate timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
  • Undertake other projects and ad-hoc tasks as required to support the finance team.
Requirements:
  • AAT qualification or degree in Accounting & Finance (or related field) with a view to studying towards a professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced finance department, preferably within the logistics industry, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A "roll your sleeves up" mentality and a willingness to learn and progress within the role.
