Onshore Pipelines Engineering Manager

Kent is seeking an experienced Onshore Pipelines Engineering Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the production of engineering deliverables on feasibility, concept, FEED, detailed design, or EPC projects. This role will predominately be onshore focused, with the potential to support consultancy work offshore/subsea.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strategic growth drive to develop and grow Kent's Front End and General Engineering capability in the UK. The successful candidate will have the talent, enthusiasm, and drive to influence and be part of this exciting expansion plan.
The UK Engineering group will support a variety of interesting and challenging opportunities in Low Carbon / Energy Transition (CCUS, Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X, Emissions Reduction) as well as responsibly developing traditional international energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify capability gaps and support the development and recruitment of the new delivery team to support with growth plans for the remainder of 2024.
- Be technically responsible for all onshore pipeline engineering work and allocate, supervise, and direct the preparation of project deliverables.
- Delegate some level of supervision and specific checking activities to appropriate competent personnel, subject to project size.
- Formulate resolutions and supervise technically challenging and/or high-profile issues, with support from Consultant Pipeline Engineer/Lead Pipeline Engineer or Project Engineering Manager, and effectively communicate with Clients and Senior Management.
- Review ITB documents submitted in the proposals stage, prepare resource hour estimates, and provide input to project execution plans.
- Supervise, review, and check pipeline activities, including philosophies, specifications, routing studies, mechanical design, material selection, corrosion protection, stress analysis, layouts, drawings, datasheets, technical requisitions, and bid evaluations.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposals/contracts by raising technical queries with projects/clients.
- Identify a clear scope of work and supervise the preparation of the Technical Document Register (TDR).
- Be responsible for planning/scheduling pipeline engineering activities and person resources.
- Quantify the total number of engineering deliverables, resource-hour allocation, and format of delivery, and other requirements for the execution of the work.
- Provide necessary regular project controls/reporting input to Project Management.
- Support Procurement, including long lead items enquiry, prepare technical requisitions, review vendor documentation, and provide technical bid evaluation support to ensure design conformance.
- Consult Quality Assurance with any quality issues, ensuring compliance with Kent's ISO Quality procedures, Project Quality Plan, and Design Integrity processes and procedures.
- Coordinate internal and client audit requests and facilitate audit procedures of engineering systems within the department.
- Comply with other Kent accredited frameworks, such as ISO 14001.
- Be responsible for the successful completion of specific scope on schedule and within resource hour and budget estimates.
Masters Degree in Engineering (typically Mechanical or Civil), Chartered Status, and significant related experience working for Engineering/Client organisations in the Oil and Gas Industry.
