We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Old Age Liaison Mental Health Service at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust.

This exciting opportunity will involve providing leadership and senior medical input to our multidisciplinary team, working closely with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work flexibly and be part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Providing consultant psychiatrist input to the Old Age Liaison Service.
  2. Acting as Responsible Clinician for patients over 65 detained under the Mental Health Act.
  3. Cross-cover with consultant colleagues as required.
  4. Offering specialist advice, consultation, and training to primary care, secondary mental health care, and acute teaching hospitals.
  5. Liaising with colleagues to provide patient-centered care, effective joint working, and risk management.
  6. Participating in departmental and team governance, including audit.
  7. Engaging in peer appraisal, CPD, appraisal, and job planning.
  8. Providing supervision and training to junior medical staff.
  9. Contributing to postgraduate teaching and supervision of junior doctors.
  10. Participating in continuing professional development according to Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines.
