Orbital Welder Specialist

Escape Recruitment is seeking a skilled Orbital Welder to join their manufacturing team in Fife. The successful candidate will have strong experience in welding and orbital welding, with a strong background in heavy engineering.
Job Purpose:The Orbital Welder will be responsible for performing precision welding on components using specialized orbital welding equipment. The role involves using automated welding machines to achieve high-quality welds, ensuring accuracy, repeatability, and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and set up welding equipment, including orbital welding machines, power supplies, and gas systems.
- Ensure all necessary materials are clean, properly aligned, and ready for welding.
- Program and calibrate orbital welding machines based on specific project requirements.
- Adjust welding parameters to achieve desired weld characteristics.
- Operate orbital welding equipment to perform high-precision welds on various materials, including stainless steel and exotic alloys.
- Monitor and control the welding process to maintain consistent quality and meet project specifications.
- Inspect welded joints using visual inspection and ensure they meet industry standards and project requirements.
- Document and record welding parameters, inspection results, and other relevant data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy engineering and be confident to work unsupervised. They will have a high standard of completion of tasks associated with the role and be able to demonstrate this through their experience and qualifications.
