Role Overview
The Virtual School Kent is seeking an Education Support Officer to join our dynamic team. As an Education Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting Children in Care to achieve better educational outcomes.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Young People and Children in Care, ensuring they have high-quality, up-to-date, and regularly reviewed Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
- Collaborate with school staff, social workers, partners across multi-agency teams, and carers to ensure best outcomes for children and young people in care.
- Be self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize work and be flexible to meet the needs of the team and the young people we support.

This is a term-time only contract, which will be reviewed at the end of the financial year. The main base for this role is Brook House in Whitstable. Your week will be varied, with a hybrid pattern of working, including home-based and office-working, as well as attending meetings in different educational settings.
Requirements
An excellent knowledge of the education system and a commitment to inclusion are essential to the role. The ability to travel across the area to meet the requirements of the role is also essential.
