About Our Safeguarding Team

We are seeking a Social Care Specialist to join our dedicated Safeguarding team at Achieving for Children. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people who are subject to Child Protection plans and Child in Need plans.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with families, their support network, and partner agencies to ensure that children and young people receive the support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children and young people who are subject to Child Protection plans and Child in Need plans
  • Understanding when to transfer cases from the Safeguarding team to the Permanence team
  • Building strong and respectful working relationships with families, their support network, and our partner agencies
  • Regular assessment writing, threshold application, home visits, direct work, care planning, chairing meetings, and case recording in line with our policies and procedures
  • Ensuring that children and young people are actively involved in our work and their voice is captured in our case recording
  • Actively taking part in reflective supervision and group supervision

About You

  • An effective communicator
  • A resilient worker, able to work effectively in a team or on your own, taking ownership and responsibility for the cases you are assigned
  • Confident and competent with relevant statutory and regulatory framework and have knowledge of an appropriate range of professional interventions
  • Evidence of championing inclusion and diversity whilst making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people
  • Solution-focused person with the ability to deal with sensitive issues

About the Role

  • Relevant Social Work qualification
  • Completion of ASYE
  • Active Social Work England registration
