About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled laboratory technician to join our research group at the University of Leeds. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to research projects and contributing to laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting research projects through laboratory experiments, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Working with primary cell cultures, including expansion, maintenance, and experimental use.
  • Assisting in the development of new cell lines and contributing to the generation of independent pure myoblast cultures.
  • Providing technical expertise in western blotting, qRT-PCR, cell imaging, and functional studies using dissected muscle samples.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • 26 days holiday plus approx. 16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That's 42 days a year.

Requirements:

  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in laboratory techniques, particularly cell culture.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
