At Watford Community Housing, we're seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our in-house repairs team. This role involves undertaking general carpentry and joinery tasks, including first and second fixes to kitchens, necessary repair works, and glazing to agreed specifications and standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry and joinery, with a background in the housing or construction sectors. They will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake general carpentry and joinery tasks, including first and second fixes to kitchens, necessary repair works, and glazing to agreed specifications and standards.
  • Work effectively and proactively with colleagues to deliver an excellent repairs service to customers.
  • Have kitchen installation experience, conduct staircase repairs, hang internal and external doors, repair/replace sub-floors and floor boarding, measure and install glazed units, and carry out repairs to PVCU windows and doors (including locks).

Requirements:

  • Experience in carpentry and joinery.
  • Experienced in setting out and implementing a range of carpentry and joinery-related tasks.
  • Hold a UK driving licence.
  • Maintain a satisfactory basic level DBS check.
