Nixon McQuade is currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Specialist on behalf of a leading business.

Reporting to the AP Manager, you will be responsible for providing all-round support to the department activities with specific responsibility for the Purchase Ledger functions.

The Role:

  • Processing of purchase invoices and credit notes.
  • Supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Bank and cash allocations.
  • Supplier payment runs.
  • Liaising with other departments and suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Month-end procedures.
  • Prepare a weekly cashflow forecast.
  • Set up and maintain vendor accounts.

The Person:

  • Previous experience in accounts payable.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as individually.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Rewards:

  • Salary range £25,000 - £30,000
  • Company pension contribution

Key Responsibilities:

As a Purchase Ledger Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the purchase ledger, including processing invoices and credit notes.
  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Coordinating bank and cash allocations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs.
  • Liaising with other departments and suppliers to resolve queries and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assisting with month-end procedures, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Preparing a weekly cashflow forecast to ensure accurate financial planning.
  • Setting up and maintaining vendor accounts to ensure accurate financial records.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in accounts payable, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure accurate financial records.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
