About the Role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Associate Director Water Scientist/Hydrologist to join our Water Environment team. This is a multi-disciplinary team with specialists in geomorphology, hydrology, hydro-ecology, water quality, and hydrogeology. We work with clients from across the public and private sectors, including the Environment Agency, Natural England, National Highways, Water Companies, NRW, River Trusts, and developers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct water quality studies and develop catchment-wide river restoration plans for water companies.
  • Deliver hydrological reviews and water balance studies for various purposes.
  • Develop a modelling approach to inform management decisions at water level-dependent designated sites.
  • Design and help deliver fish passes and river restoration schemes.
  • Manage projects, including client management and report writing.
Requirements
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject (geography, physical sciences, engineering, etc.).
  • Proficiency in hydrological software and environmental modelling.
  • Proficiency in GIS software.
  • Report writing skills and ability to present complex technical information.
  • Experience in technical project delivery.
