Job Title: Children's Nurse - Sexual Assault Referral Centre

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Nurse to join our team at The Havens, London's Sexual Assault Referral Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide emotional, practical, and safeguarding support to children and young people who have experienced sexual assault or abuse.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide forensic medical examinations and follow-up medical and sexual health services to children and young people.
  • Support parents, carers, and professionals in navigating systems related to sexual assault or abuse.
  • Maintain a safe environment and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the needs of children and young people are met.
  • Manage stock and resources for children and young people.
  • Support with clinic preparation and chaperoning as needed.
  • Maintain accurate databases of services supporting children and young people who have experienced sexual assault or abuse.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Knowledge and awareness of current developments in nursing, with particular emphasis on sexual assault services.
  • Previous experience of working within an acute paediatric setting.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Able to manage children and young people's emotional needs and demonstrate empathy and caring.
  • Demonstrable commitment to caring for children and young people who have been sexually assaulted.
