Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting installations, maintenance, and repairs of safety, communications, and navigation systems on vessels.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct safety surveys on various merchant vessel types in line with SOLAS requirements, Classification societies, or MCA.
  2. Provide technical advice to stakeholders and customers on sales support.
  3. Work with the Principal Engineer and Administrator to ensure efficient operation of the Marine Service Centre and maintain client relationships.
  4. Install and commission equipment on customers' vessels and premises.
  5. Perform maintenance and repairs of equipment on customers' vessels and company premises.
  6. Conduct surveys and inspections of ship radio communications and radio navigational installations.
  7. Be competent with marine equipment and integrated systems.
  8. Travel to UK and foreign locations as required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Essential

  1. Past experience in a service industry and knowledge of Marine Navigation and communication systems.
  2. HNC/HND or equivalent in Electronics/Electrical discipline.
  3. Full driving licence.
  4. Radio survey experience.
  5. Experience working for a marine electronics service company.
  6. Navigation and Communications manufactures training courses.

Personal Attributes

  1. Excellent communication skills.
  2. Ability to think entrepreneurially and apply commercial business sense to technical decisions.
  3. Technical competency and knowledge of marine industry regulations.
  4. Working knowledge of the UK maritime market.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time role requiring regular travel and flexibility with working hours.
