Job Title: Chief Digital Technology Officer

Job Summary:

The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is embarking on a transformative journey, driving change across our systems, services, and culture. As a critical provider of geospatial maritime data, our Digital & Technology services are at the forefront of this evolution. We are seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Digital Technology Officer (CDTO) to lead this transformation, ensuring our services meet the needs of our customers, including the Royal Navy, and uphold the UK's Safety of Life at Sea commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the 200-strong Digital & Technology division, championing innovation and driving our digital strategy.
  • Ensure we remain at the cutting edge of maritime geospatial data services, enhancing our digital services and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of UKHO, working closely with the Executive Leadership Team.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing service transformations that significantly impact an organisation's operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Knowledge and experience of applying new technology to operational processes and new product development, especially digital data products and services, for customer benefit.
  • Experience of working at or near board level in a customer or service-orientated environment, ideally digital-focused but with a commercial angle.
  • Ability to drive innovation with digital strategy experience in enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Experience of working in an organisation of a comparable size and complexity to the UKHO.

Why UKHO?

This is a unique opportunity to lead digital transformation at a critical time for UKHO, making a significant impact on national and international maritime services. If you are passionate about driving change, leading innovative teams, and delivering excellence, we encourage you to apply.

This role offers a rare chance to shape the digital future of the UKHO. If you have the vision, leadership, and passion to lead this transformation, we look forward to hearing from you.
