Job Description

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geo-environmental Consultant/ Hydrogeologist to join our Sustainable Land and Resource Management Practice in our Birmingham office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering projects related to land contamination, hydrogeology, and brownfield redevelopment.

Responsibilities:
  • Organise, collate, and assess desk-based information as part of Phase 1 Desk Studies.
  • Implement AtkinsRéalis digital initiatives and automation aims.
  • Manage digital data, develop conceptual site models, and undertake qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for human health and the water environment.
  • Prepare and deliver factual and interpretative reporting.
  • Design Phase 2 site investigations, organise, supervise, and undertake environmental/ geo-environmental site investigation and monitoring.
  • Comply with Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Prepare relevant Environmental Impact Assessment chapters.
  • Develop own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.
  • Manage own work, including supporting senior management to ensure projects are delivered on-time, on budget, and to quality and client expectations.
Requirements:
  • Higher education qualification in a relevant engineering or science subject.
  • Demonstratable understanding of land contamination/brownfield land issues.
  • Understanding of relevant codes of practice and industry standards.
  • Willingness to travel and undertake site-based work across the UK.
