About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Control and Instrumentation Defect Technician to join our team at SSE Enterprise. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our thermal power station.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate plant failures and defects, and implement remedial action to achieve effective resolution.
  • Manage and supervise maintenance activities to ensure work is executed successfully, delivered safely, on time, and to budget.
  • Direct site personnel, including contractors, when performing engineering works.
  • Ensure works are assigned to personnel with appropriate competencies and performed safely in line with Safe Systems of Work.
Requirements
  • HNC level or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline, with experience in an engineering or maintenance position at a thermal power station or other heavy industry.
  • Experienced in the management and supervision of contract and in-house resources, providing safety and technical leadership.
  • Comprehensive understanding of control & instrumentation systems, plant, and equipment within the remit of the role. Previous Siemens T3000 experience advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Maximo computerised maintenance management system would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidiscipline team to troubleshoot complex technical problems.
