We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an excellent SEND school in Basildon. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in empowering children with special educational needs to reach their full potential.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a small class of children aged with learning disabilities, supporting their educational and personal development. You will be placed in a suitable age group that aligns with your skills and experience, and will work closely with the teaching staff to deliver high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with profound multiple learning difficulties and personal care needs
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, using learners' own words, language, and materials
  • Break down tasks into smaller steps, making both written and spoken information clear
  • Observe and respond to the needs of individual learners, promoting shared communication and peer learning
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience supporting pupils with PMLD and personal care needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people
