Job Overview

A dynamic and supportive Infant School in Wakefield is seeking an experienced General Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 class. This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team, making a positive impact on children's education.

About the Role

This full-time position is available from ASAP, working closely with the classroom teacher to provide exceptional support to students in Year 2. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 or higher childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification, knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, and experience working with KS1 Children.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in preparing lessons, managing classroom resources, and ensuring a smooth learning environment.
  • Support children who require extra help, providing one-to-one guidance and encouragement.
  • Contribute to creating engaging learning activities, supporting teachers in planning and delivering effective educational experiences.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, collaborate with the teaching team to inform instruction.
  • Supervise group activities, promoting social interaction and fostering a sense of community among students.
  • Provide emotional support to children who are upset or need reassurance, ensuring their well-being and safety.
